So much for my more detailed post this week using my new pens, quite the opposite actually. In fact, I don't think it gets much rougher than using my harry potter pen (as seen in the sketch above).
What a week, lucky it's Friday!!
Have you had a light bulb moment lately? I feel like I did yesterday, when I came up with the idea for this cartoon. I am sure that I'm not the first, or the last to have this idea, but this was my take on it. Also I was experimenting and playing around with my new sepia pens. I do like them. I may need to see what else I can do with them next week. I might try something with a little more detail.
Wishing you happy ideas and light bulb moments!
In the above image the boy in the second row is ultra prepared, free from the stench thanks to his gas mask. I was going to dress him in a scouts uniform, but the idea of a bow tie stuck with me for some reason. I think the girl at the front looks a lot like me when I was young, although she has a rounder face. From the love heart last week, to the stinky smells this week, you never know from week to week what will be next! Truth is, some weeks neither do I. It really is lucky you can't scratch and sniff this picture. Not that you can scratch and sniff anything on a computer screen. Or can you???
Happy Valentine's Day to you all!!!!
This morning I had to face the fact I still had no cartoon for this week's post, aaarrhhh!!! Then my hubby kindly reminded me 'it's Valentine's Day', yay!! So, here is my very quick effort, a re-take on and old card design I did back in 2008 I think.
Excitement for me is building, even though it's only lunchtime, as we are dining out tonight, to celebrate Valentine's Day and I can't wait. It's been a while since we ate out!! I hope you are getting spoilt today by someone special, and if not make sure you do something special yourself.
Wow-ee! 'Life As...' reaches 80 weeks!!!
These two peas in a pod were created as a greeting card for Nuovo, as part of my 'Life As...' card series.
I think they are pretty cute! Hooray for Friday!!
Last weekend my husband and I had a lovely time in Sydney, we were there for a wedding, and an Australia Day Barbecue. Busy busy!!! The above image, was on the card we gave to the Bride and Groom. I do hope they relate to our card's humour, with the memories of their wedding day fresh in their minds.
Happy Friday and Congrats to all the Newlyweds!!
With Australia Day fast approaching, I thought 'Life as an Aussie' would be perfect for this week's post. This kangaroo and her joey are aussie icons well worth celebrating, hooray for Australia! (For all my international readers, Australia Day is on January 26).
Happy Friday and Happy Australia Day Everyone!
I'm currently up to day nine, having skipped two days so far due to the horrible heat wave we are having in Melbourne right now. Today is the fourth day that will hit over 40 degrees, total yuk!!
Well, Happy Friday Everyone, and wishing those that need it, a speedy recovery from injury.
Above reminds me of a couple of the picnics I've been on!!! This image became one of the 31 cards that I designed and developed for Nuovo. So be sure to look out for it in the shops.
Life As... my dog!!
This is typical Cody, he loves to sleep or rest leaning his side or back against something. In this sketch, Cody was lying in the corridor at my parents house having a rest, probably super zonked out. I think that's why I drew his eyes in such a spaced out, hypnotised kind of way!
It was a few years ago that this sketch came to life, Codes had both front legs back then. Nowadays he's missing his right front leg. Despite missing his leg, he can still shake hands with you using his shoulder stump, (I am planning to film this at some point soon) and digging, running, jumping in and out of the car, all are activities he CAN still do. In fact, it's amazing just how well he has adapted. Good Onya Cody!! For more about Cody you can check out the read more section below.
Happy Friday and Happy New Year Everyone.
